Twas the week before Christmas.......

and Jakey boy & I scored a few little peelers out the front of the wall at Cronulla. These pics were taken on the same day , by 2 different photographers, it's amazing the different perspective. Thanks to Mj from the sea life & to Macca from Surf Images.

Captain Fin Co. Insight, Raised By Wolves, Jai & Matt

We were lucky enough to be invited by good friend Matty Chojnacki over the harbour to Mona Vale, where Insight and Raised By Wolves held an event at The Concrete Crayons Gallery launching the new Captain Fin Co. range of fins , being distributed in Australia by Noosa Stylemaster Jai Lee. The Fins are SICK! Matty C has them in his shop or you can get em from Jai's online store directly.
Patt Capocci started off the night with an awesome rockabilly set, we were then entertained by new flicks You Scratched My Anchor and , the hottest longboard movie I have probably ever seen, in Picaresque. If you haven't got a copy, get one , NOW!
The night was capped of by northerne beaches band Sunroom who were just awesome.
Thanks to all involved on putting on a great night, us southsiders had a great night and we look forward to the next event.
A good night seemed to be had by all.

Vico Trip - High Tide Surfboards

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go to Victoria for the last week to stay with Jordie Brown, owner of High Tide Surfboards, Skenes Creek, Vico.
Our plan was to surf till we dropped , and mix that up with shaping me a few new boards.
Over the week we surfed Kennett River & Kennett Rivermouth ( so sick, with Killer Whales to boot ), The Elliot ( dodgiest place i have ever surfed ), Lorne Point, Apollo Bay Breakwall ( till 9.30pm under lights from the pier ), 13th Beach & Wye River.
I got to catch up for a few surfs with Oscar Lalor and his family and they were good enough to have us over for dinner 1 night.
We ended up shaping a new Log, a new HP and a new Shorty. Jordie is going to glass them and finish them off for me to pick up early in the new year. Can't wait to get my hands on them. Jordie's done an awesome job and they are gonna go sick!
Thanks Jordie for an awesome week, and thanks to Marley for sharing the couch with me, I'll be back sooner than you think.
Here's a few pics.

Day Trip . . . . .

4am start saw me arrive at Sea Life Matt's place with the Van loaded with logs, ready for a trip south to The Farm in anticipation of a great morning's surf. We collected Stu & we were off.
On arrival at the Farm we were greeted with some sweet 2-3 footers and the odd bigger one. It was a little bumpy at first but after an hour it cleaned up beautifully and we were left with perfect lefts and rights in the middle of the beach. Ideal conditions for MJ to snap a few off of us and then join us for some fun on his fish.

We departed The Farm at 10.00 or so and with a quick stop at a bakery in Albion park made the dash home so I could grab some lunch with Raylene. A great steak at the Intersection Tavern & then it was off to the Northern Beaches to Raised By Wolves for a spot of shopping and then an after work session with Matt Chojnacki at Long Reef. Matt is stoked all the time and it certainly rubbed off on Jake as they scored some not so perfect, but highly enjoyable peelers into the early evening. They were both "Shredding" and making it look way better than I thought it was.

What a Day....

Weekend with the Boys

Here's a few pics from a great weekend of surfing down south with Jake, Beau & Chris. Great loggin waves, and some good ones for HP/SUP Beau! There were a good range of boards with Chris's Surftechs, Beau and His Naish SUP and John Harris HP, and Jakey & I with our High Tide boards. Thanks for a super weekend fellas, lets do it again soon.

a tale of 2

Thursday 12th November, we knew it would be clean and small, but that generally means a bucket load of fun. The only issue, a fair crowd which made it interesting at times, but we had a ball all the same in the small clean peelers. Matt from the seal life was shooting from behind the rocks at the alley and Greg from Surf Images was shooting from the water. Here's a few pics from them both, a different perspective from each , a tale of 2.

Keep The Stoke - Jazz The Glass

Stoke Films have a new movie not far away from completion & release in the U.S, it's called "Jazz The Glass". Definitely not your normal surf movie but something my wife & I couldn't stop laughing at this morning. I'll be getting a copy for sure when it hits our shores. There's 2 trailers, just a warning the 2nd one has a few "F" bombs.

Mondayitis

Didn't want to go to work today after a big weekend but knew I had to, although I managed to prolong it a couple of hours by heading out to Cronulla early with Jake to get our toes wet.

DV8 Sunday

Jake and I hit the road quite early to head south & catch up with our mates from the dv8'S for the monthly club round. I was hoping it would be at The Farm as it's one of our most favourite places to surf, and what do ya know, it was there, and she didn't let us down. STOKED !
