Thomas Surfboards

Sunshine Coast & TCSS shredder and Master Craftsmen Thomas Bexon has made a few trips south of the border in recent times, shaping up a storm with Ian Chislom down at SouthCoast in Torquay and also spending some time in the bay over at The Sugarmill in Narrabeen.
I caught up with Thomas Sunday morning at Longreef where we managed to find a massive crowd but some fun ones for Doc to slide his 7'8" Hull into.
Look forward to catching up with Thomas in Noosa in March.

Freaky Friday

with a solid spike in SE swell early Friday morning and lack of banks able to handle it on the Cronulla stretch, we hit a little reef on the south side of Cronulla to find 1 guy out and some perfect waves for Cookie to slide his log into. Freaky to find this place that bare when it was as good as it was....
SCORED!

Cookielovesit

That says it all really.... Cookielovesit.... surfing.... calling this nice little right (and sometimes left ) hand reef break on the southern end of the Cronulla stretch home, whenever it's working you'll find Cookie out there.
I caught up with Cookie ( Matty Cook ) for the early on Tuesday morning and snapped a few of him doing his thing. He's going to be competing in the ASP Longboard Qualifying Series this year, with events in NZ, Noosa, Kingscliff & WA, good luck mate & keep shredding!

Bass Point

a favourite place of mine to surf and shoot.... playing around with my first DSLR that I hardly use anymore and a wide angle lens while waiting for some surfers to hit the lineup . . . something different for me

Clayton + Wilde

Clayton Bell, shortboard shredder, has turned his hand to log riding over the last year and a half. Jake & I have been lucky enough to share waves with him regularly at 7 Mile in recent times.
I caught up with Clayton over the weekend down south, he was styling as usual on his
Sean Wilde Log.

Brown Dogg

Driving around looking to shoot a bit over the weekend I ran into Chris Brown ( Brown Dogg Surfboards Shaper ) on both Saturday morning at The Farm and Sunday Morning at The Shallows and snapped these 2 of him.... On the Tip of his log on a clean Farm right hander and a nice left at The Shallows on his Mini Simmons ( I thinks that what you call em ), always stoked to catch up with Chris.

No Surf....

for possibly 6-12 months... thats what i'm looking at ... after dislocating my shoulder surfing at Werri a week ago. I had a reconstruction 9 years ago and have most certainly damaged the repair, meaning more surgery and a lengthy recovery before being able to surf again.
I'm trying to look at this as a positive for my photography, as I'll have plenty of time prior and post op to shoot up and down the coast, starting down south this weekend.
Jake is away in Vico with Jordie for the next 12 days so I'm flying solo... Logging at the not so secret spot will be the order of the day on sat with a nice little reef attracting some ENE swell on the cards for Sunday... Hit me up on 0405 385 719 if you're down Shellharbour way...

7 Mile . . . Our Hm away from Hm

From Christmas Day to Australia Day and most weekends from October thru February each year our caravan at 7 Mile Beach becomes our home away from hm. More often than not we are blessed with some fun waves and Saturday 8th Jan 2011 was no exception, after our trip to The Farm for the early Jake snuck in a Lunchtime log ( bottom pic ) in front of the caravan park and got some sweet ones down the beach just before dinner... we love it down there!

Mates Max & Jake hit The Farm

I took Jake & Max ( Fellow 7 Mile Caravan occupant ) for an early run to the Farm Saturday morning and they scored some fun ones...

Sammy & ST Shapes at The Farm - 8th Jan

Sammy Tehan made the journey from Cronulla to the Farm to catch up with us for a wave and escape the Cronulla closeouts, testing out a new board that he'd just finished off. It seemed to work well for him. Sammy is getting quite a following in Cronulla and the Eastern Suburbs, with more & more of his boards being seen on the beaches. Great to catch up with Sam.
