Rad Saturday
Jake and I were fortunate enough to have saturday morning free to head over to the northern beaches and catch up with Matty C and Thomas "Doc" Bexon who was on his way to Vico and had organised to stop in at The Sugarmill to shape a few boards.
We met up with the boys for an early surf and we wound up at Palmy to find some nice peelers for the boys on their logs. It was then back to the Sugarmill for coffee, bacon & egg rolls and a look at all the new goodies Chongy has in the shop.... I could have done some serious damage to my credit card, but refrained.... If you haven't been to the Sugarmill get over there... it's rad .... I only wish it was on my side of the harbour bridge tho!

Looking forward .....
to NOOSAAAAAAAA 2011 . . . .
It was at Noosa in March 2010 that my love for Surf Photography hit new heights and I can't wait until March 2011 to get back there.... this time with far better gear and my Aquatech water housing as well... Just hope the usual shredders grace us with their presence.
Here's 2 of my favourite pics from Noosa 2010 that are about to be published in ALB's 2010 Photo Annual. Yew!

The not so secret spot.....
Palm Beach
We went over to Palmy ( Summer Bay as my Girls call it ) for the annual Old Mal Rally... it was a cracking day but the waves on the comp bank weren't the best , but everyone had a great time nonetheless, thanks to all the Palmy Crew. I managed to snap off a fewhots here & there and snuck up the norther corner out of the wind with the boys for a few water shots. Good times!

7 Mile - Jako & Erin
Jakey has been riding High Tide Surfboards for just short of 2 years now.
Erin just got her first High Tide surfboard last week and she loves it.
I managed to get a few shots of Jake & Erin at 7 Mile beach last weekend, just before they both took off to Casuarina for a week to the Australian Surfing run High Performance Camp.
Ian Bell
Whilst up at the Aussie Titles Jako & I spent some free surfing time down at North Haven early in the week. Local Shredder & Golden Breed team rider Ian Bell was out there each day doing his thing. He still shreds on a longboard and it was cool to shoot him surfing as well as have a chat with him, I've got a feeling we might just see him hitting up the comp scene again in the not to distant future.

Bellambi + Aquatech
Took out my new Aquatech water housing with the 1D Mk3 for the first time Sunday morning at Bellambi Point for the Laybacks PointScore. Note to self - get some flippers that fit properly as my feet were killing using Jakes.... Heading out again this Saturday at the Farm, hopefully my new 15mm Fisheye will have arrived and I'll be able to test that out. YEW!

Alas Magazine Launch
In celebration of the release of the first issue of "Alas Magazine" the boys threw a good old shin dig at El Sol Mexican Restaurant on the 19th September. There were tunes from "Kieran de la Harpe" , "Fade in the shade" and "Fisher King", threads supplied by TCSS, and a sweet Alaia donated by Ryan Bridges of RB Shapes that some lucky young lady walked away with, much to the disgust of the gentlemen in attendance. A great night was had by all and plenty of Corona's and Burritos were consumed.
If you haven't got your copy yet hit up Triple Bull at Cronulla, The Sugarmill at Narrabeen or The Porch & Parlour at Bondi..... or shoot me some mail and I can point you in the right direction.
Below are some snaps I took on the night... enjoy!

Bevanantics By Brad Whittaker Featuring Jake
Brad made this little video of Jake surfing some tiny waves, albeit in beautiful conditions at North Cronulla. Shot using his new HD Go Pro. Pretty cool.

The Salt Baptist
Good Mate Andrew Carruthers heads up The Salt Baptist Church in Peregian, on the Sunshine Coast of QLD. He's loves his surfing and is into his photography as well as being the driving force behind the new Christian Surf Movie "FLUX". I got to spend a heap of time with him at Port last week and thought I'd give his site a little plug!

Aussie Titles 2010 - OPENS!
I've just spent the last 7 days in Port Macquarie at the Australian Longboard Titles. An insane week of surfing & more so shooting for me, totally frothing out on the performances of many of Australia's, if not the world's best longboard surfers. The images below are of the 4 finalists from the Men's Opens. The pic at the top is Josh Constable with what was my pic of the week, from his round 1 heat... amazing huh!

1960's
Do you love boards & footage from the 60's? I do... The trim, the glide, the history.
I'm picking up a 66/67 Hobie Gary Propper model tomorrow just in time for our trip to Vico for the Surf Coast Winter Classic. Can't wait to try it out on some uncrowded points down the Great Ocean rd.
Below is an orginal Ad of the board ( mine is identical ) and also some footage that I think is just awesome, how's the commentary.

Layback Winter Classic
The Laybacks held their annual Winter Classic on the 3rd July at Bellambi Point. It was 2-3ft with the occassional bigger one, and was a perfect day all round. A great comp run by a great bunch of people, this was our first year at this comp and we'll be back next year for sure.
Thanks for a great day!
