Shallows Sunday.....

Well today was meant to be the DV8 pointscore, but there were limited options with the solid ENE swell and southerly winds, and as The Shallows & Boneyards were way to populated we all decided to hang at The Shallows and just surf together. There were some very solid sets, a few too many kooks for the conditions, but we all managed to score some good ones & had plent of fun together.

I pulled out the camera for 10 mins prior to getting wet & managed to snap this sequence of DV8 mate Josh Dunn coming unstuck on one that sucked up a little more than he expected.YEW!

Magical Monday Morning..... Jake & I paddled out while it was still dark..... our awesome creator blessed us with some sweet waves and a killer sunrise . . . Pics courtesy of MJ from the seal life . . . YEW the man!

SUNROOM!

Slid on down to the Caringbah hotel Sunday arvo to catch Northern Beaches act Sunroom play as part of the Caringbah Hotels Sunday afternoon "Chill Sessions".
It was their first gig in the south of sydney after playing for a few years regularly over the other side of the bridge.
They are scheduled to play again at the Caringbah Hotel on the 28th February, so do yourself a favour and check em out.
Filthy vocals, hectic drums & some seriously stylin bass guitar.
I walked away with their CD I was that impressed.
Suss out the video below..... It's sick, but personally, I think they sound better live!

Back on the Job........

Well it's been a good while since we made our last post.... spending most of the last 6 weeks down at our caravan at gerroa , on the beautiful South Coast. We scored plenty of waves over the break, from small peelers , to some solid 6ft+ stuff.
Here's a small selection of pics from late dec - jan, some taken by Justin and some by 13 year old Jessica. There's also some pics good mate MJ of the Sea Life took on Monday the 25th Jan.... click here to check em out
Stay tuned, some interesting stuff coming soon!

Twas the week before Christmas.......

and Jakey boy & I scored a few little peelers out the front of the wall at Cronulla. These pics were taken on the same day , by 2 different photographers, it's amazing the different perspective. Thanks to Mj from the sea life & to Macca from Surf Images.

Captain Fin Co. Insight, Raised By Wolves, Jai & Matt

We were lucky enough to be invited by good friend Matty Chojnacki over the harbour to Mona Vale, where Insight and Raised By Wolves held an event at The Concrete Crayons Gallery launching the new Captain Fin Co. range of fins , being distributed in Australia by Noosa Stylemaster Jai Lee. The Fins are SICK! Matty C has them in his shop or you can get em from Jai's online store directly.
Patt Capocci started off the night with an awesome rockabilly set, we were then entertained by new flicks You Scratched My Anchor and , the hottest longboard movie I have probably ever seen, in Picaresque. If you haven't got a copy, get one , NOW!
The night was capped of by northerne beaches band Sunroom who were just awesome.
Thanks to all involved on putting on a great night, us southsiders had a great night and we look forward to the next event.
A good night seemed to be had by all.

Vico Trip - High Tide Surfboards

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go to Victoria for the last week to stay with Jordie Brown, owner of High Tide Surfboards, Skenes Creek, Vico.
Our plan was to surf till we dropped , and mix that up with shaping me a few new boards.
Over the week we surfed Kennett River & Kennett Rivermouth ( so sick, with Killer Whales to boot ), The Elliot ( dodgiest place i have ever surfed ), Lorne Point, Apollo Bay Breakwall ( till 9.30pm under lights from the pier ), 13th Beach & Wye River.
I got to catch up for a few surfs with Oscar Lalor and his family and they were good enough to have us over for dinner 1 night.
We ended up shaping a new Log, a new HP and a new Shorty. Jordie is going to glass them and finish them off for me to pick up early in the new year. Can't wait to get my hands on them. Jordie's done an awesome job and they are gonna go sick!
Thanks Jordie for an awesome week, and thanks to Marley for sharing the couch with me, I'll be back sooner than you think.
Here's a few pics.
